A delegation of 36 students from Central Philippine University (CPU) achieved a major milestone by completing their first International Academic and Cultural Immersion in Malaysia, featuring an exclusive extended reality masterclass.

Held between June 10–14, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, the immersion program was designed to provide global exposure and strengthen the academic competencies of the College of Computer Studies (CCS). Accompanied by CCS Dean Prof. Ma. Christina A. Quijano and LILAC Acting Director Prof. Lesley Joy L. Dignadice, the students visited the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) to experience the forefront of spatial computing.

A central highlight of this educational journey was an exclusive, hands-on Tech-Talk focused on the rapidly evolving ecosystem of Extended Reality (XR) and its real-world applications.

• Expert Insights: Asst. Prof. Ts. Dr. Siti Azreena Mubin, APU’s XR Studio Lead, guided the delegation through the realms of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR), sharing industry trends and future career prospects.

• Live Project Demonstrations: Students interacted directly with innovative, student-created XR projects, witnessing firsthand how theoretical computer science concepts are transformed into functional digital realities.

• Exclusive XR Studio Tour: The group explored APU’s state-of-the-art XR facility, getting hands-on with advanced technology like 360-degree volumetric video capture, the Extended Education Experience Station (EDEX), and industry-grade Mixed Reality smart glasses.
