Comprehensive Summary

A mobile app based on AR technology will be created to show virtual wallpaper to the customers and allow them to put the virtual wallpaper on their actual walls before purchasing it. The customers will experience online wallpaper shopping effortlessly if they use the mobile app. The user can virtually test out different combinations of wallpaper without having to physically move the pieces. The customer will be able to view in the virtual catalogues in 3D and if they choose any item, they will be able to view the item on their actual walls. By designing wallpaper layout in 3D, the mobile app goal is to maximize users’ time quality.

Project Justification

The purpose of AR is to ease user life by providing not only the surroundings in the user, but also every indirect view of the real-world environment, such as live video streaming. AR increases the user’s understanding of the real world and engagement with it. AR technology increases the sensation of realism by superimpose virtual objects and indications in real time.

Objectives

1. To design and develop a mobile app using AR technology that will allow the customers to view virtual wallpaper catalogues and experience an advanced shopping tool that will enable them to scan the wallpaper on their wall before purchasing it.
